About Late Dr. Nagendra Swaroop ji.

Born into a family of renowned educationist, philanthropist and nationalist luminaries, Late Dr. Nagendra Swarup ji received all these qualities as family heritage, following ever so successfully in the hallowed footprints of his grandfather Late Dr. Brajendra Swarup ji and his illustrious father Late Dr. Virendra Swarup ji. Being the successor of such acclaimed personalities is no easy task, but Late. Dr. Nagendra Swarup ji proved from a very early age that he was blessed by the heavens with the same gifts that had etched the name of the Swarup family in such glittering letters in the annals of history. Immediately after completing his D.Litt. he joined his father in his lofty vision and untiring mission of spreading the light of education among the common people of Kanpur and its surrounding areas.

After the untimely demise of his father, he took upon himself, the mantle of carrying forward and expanding the glorious legacy of this illustrious family. From the very beginning, he proved himself to be a very capable, empathetic and compassionate administrator, who was always available to pay attention to the grievances of any employee and ensured effective and quick redressals of all problems.

He continued the glorious tradition with his wonderful administrative leadership of D.A.V. College, D.B.S College, and Women’s College in Kanpur. However, he did not stop there. Through the establishment of The Virendra Swarup Educational Foundation, in the memory of his father, he, successfully and effectively, spread the flame of school education to the newly populated southern localities of Kanpur like Kidwai Nagar, Awadh Puri, Panki, Sharda Nagar, Shyam Nagar etc. as well as the surrounding districts of Farrukhabad, Unnao, Bachhwara among others. Not only have these endeavors proved invaluable in spreading affordable, good quality education to the interiors and hinterlands, but have also provided avenues of employment to a large number of people who found a stable and respectable source of livelihood in these institutions . His zeal for social enterprise and service did not limit itself only to the field of education, but also found substantial expression in his philanthropic and charitable work. He has been a continuous and major benefactor of many NGOs and other philanthropic organisations and their devotion towards many causes of social relevance and upliftment.

He has also been a benevolent contributor towards Governmental relief funds in any situation of natural or other calamity.

A gentleman of impeccable courteousness and polite behavior, Late Dr. Nagendra Swarup ji was an embodiment of patience, empathy, timely action and infallible administrative acumen. His sincerity and devotion towards the cause of education and his concern for the wellbeing and convenience of all the faculty members as well as staff members was manifested through his easy accessibility and ever presence inspite of such busy schedules. His presence was a source of guidance for all who were lucky enough to know him and his wisdom and empathetic treatment of all who sought assistance, acted as an incessant source of inspiration for all who witnessed it. Life is transient and nothing lasts forever. However, what matters, is the contribution one can make towards humanity during their stay on this planet which we call home. One must count their achievements in term of the number of lives one could touch in a positive manner, and the hearts in which one could make place for themselves.

The life of Late Dr. Nagendra Swarup ji has been a testament to that. He might have left us for his heavenly abode, but his acts of kindness, social service, guidance, inspiration, motivation and his vision of education and social upliftment has left an indelible impression on the hearts, minds and souls of all who ever knew him and all of us will cherish his remembrance in our hearts forever. His passing has left an irreversible void in the firmament of nation building, but we vow to keep the flame of learning unblemished. With his memories and wisdom as our inspiration we shall keep alive the fire of his inspirational and visionary zeal burning in our hearts forever.
