The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic fervor at D.B.S. College, Kanpur, on August 15th, 2024. The event was marked by a series of activities that reflected the spirit of freedom and unity. The college campus was adorned with the tricolor, and the air was filled with enthusiasm as students, faculty, and staff gathered to pay homage to the nation and its freedom fighters.
The day began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Principal of D.B.S. College, Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra. As the flag unfurled against the clear morning sky, the national anthem resonated throughout the campus, invoking a sense of pride and patriotism among all present. The sight of the tricolor fluttering in the breeze was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.
Following the flag hoisting, Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra addressed the gathering. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of remembering the struggles and sacrifices that led to India’s independence. He also spoke about the role of education in shaping the future of the nation and urged the students to be responsible citizens, contributing to the growth and development of the country. His words were inspiring and left a lasting impact on everyone. Prof. K. K. Srivastava, Co-ordinator IQAC also addressed the august gathering present followed by patriotic songs by Ms. Akriti Pandey and Ms. Astha Agnihotri.
Prof. Vivek Kumar Pandey, Dr. Anita Singh, Dr. Brij Kishor Mishra, Dr. Swadesh Kumar Gupta, Dr. Abhishek Johri, Shri Shailendra Sharma, Shri Shashank Srivastava, Shri Sharad Kumar, and Shri Aman Saran Saxena were felicitated for their extraordinary performance in their departments. The celebration also included the distribution of prizes to NCC cadets, who have shown extraordinary performance at the NCC camps.
