On December 23, 2024, D. B. S. College, Kanpur, hosted an enriching star-gazing program under the auspices of the esteemed Principal, Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra. The event was organized with the guidance of Prof. R. K. Mishra (HOD, Geography) and Prof. Pragya Agarwal (HOD, Physics). It provided an extraordinary opportunity for over 50 students, faculty members, and local attendees to delve into the mysteries of the night sky. Equipped with a telescope, participants observed celestial marvels like Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and Venus. Such programs play a pivotal role in fostering curiosity and scientific temper among the general public. Astronomy not only unveils the secrets of the cosmos but also bridges the gap between science and culture, as emphasized by Dr. Anita Nigam, who captivated the audience with fascinating mythological stories linked to stars and planets.
