The Department of Chemistry, DBS College, Kanpur, under the guidance of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized a webinar on the topic “Role of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Scientific Research” on 24 January 2026. The event was conducted in collaboration with Xelpoc Design and Tech Ltd.
The webinar was organized with the objective of enhancing awareness among students and faculty about the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in scientific research and innovation. The program witnessed the esteemed presence of the Principal, Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra, and the Head of the Chemistry Department, Prof. C. M. Saxena, who extended their support and encouragement for the academic initiative.
The session featured distinguished keynote speakers Dr. Naveen Kumar and Mr. Sambit Mukherjee, who delivered insightful lectures on the applications, impact, and future prospects of AI in modern scientific research. They highlighted how AI is transforming data analysis, laboratory automation, drug discovery, and interdisciplinary research, inspiring participants to explore technological advancements in science.
Several faculty members of the Chemistry Department attended the webinar, contributing to the academic environment and enriching discussions. The webinar was efficiently convened by Dr. Tamanna Begum, whose efforts ensured the smooth coordination and successful execution of the event.
During the concluding session, Prof. C. M. Saxena and Principal Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra expressed their gratitude to the keynote speakers, organizers, and participants for making the webinar a meaningful and productive learning experience.
