Poster Competition on World Ozone Day New

On the occasion of World Ozone Day, the Department of Geography, D.B.S. College, Kanpur organized a Poster/Chart Making Competition to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and maintaining environmental balance. Students presented creative and thought-provoking posters highlighting the theme. The program began with an inspiring address by the Principal of the College, Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra, who emphasized the crucial role of the ozone layer in sustaining life and urged students to contribute actively to environmental protection. Head of the Department, Dr. Gautam Hall, sensitized the students on the scientific significance of the ozone layer and the threats posed by its depletion. He also motivated them to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. The event was successfully coordinated and conducted by Dr. Anita Nigam, who explained the objectives and rules of the competition while encouraging maximum participation.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by senior faculty member Dr. K. C. Tripathi, who expressed gratitude to all participants, judges, and organizers. He remarked that such events not only enhance students’ creativity but also strengthen their social and environmental consciousness. On this occasion, IQAC Coordinator Prof. K. K. Srivastava, NAAC Coordinator Prof. Sunil Upadhyay, along with other faculty members and non-teaching staff of the department – Shri Shatrughan, Shri Rajendra, Smt. Poonam, Shri Ankit Nishad, and Shri Vineet Tripathi were also present. Winners of the competition were felicitated with prizes, and the efforts of all participants were highly appreciated.
