Plastic Free Campus New

The Eco Club of DBS College, Kanpur successfully organized an awareness program on “Plastic Free Campus -Say No to Plastic” on 23rd February 2026 under the guidance of Dr. Archna Saxena, Convener of the Eco Club. The program aimed to sensitize students about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and encourage sustainable practices within the college campus.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Principal, Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra, who addressed the students and emphasized the urgent need to reduce plastic consumption. He encouraged everyone to adopt eco-friendly alternatives and take personal responsibility for maintaining a clean and green environment. His motivating words inspired students to actively participate in the mission of making the campus plastic-free.

Prof. C. M. Saxena and Prof. Sandeep Shukla also shared their valuable thoughts on environmental conservation and highlighted the importance of collective efforts in protecting nature. Faculty members including Dr. Aasish Shukla, Dr. Abhishek Johri, Dr. Seema Tripathi, and Dr. Priyanka Sonwani, along with other respected staff members, were present and supported the initiative wholeheartedly.

Dr. Archna Saxena, in her address, explained the long-term environmental hazards caused by single-use plastics and urged students to minimize their usage by switching to reusable and biodegradable products. She encouraged the students to become environmental ambassadors and spread awareness in society.

The program concluded with a pledge taken by students and faculty members to work towards a plastic-free campus. The initiative was highly appreciated and marked an important step towards promoting environmental sustainability at DBS College, Kanpur.
